I create paintings that range from bold, abstract acrylics to pieces that transform under UV light and glow in the dark. I love both approaches — the richness and depth of traditional acrylics, and the playful, unexpected surprises that light-reactive pigments can bring.
Over the years, I’ve studied painting in structured courses and learned just as much through hands-on experimentation. In 2016, I illustrated the children’s book Lily and Flinge and the Piece of Kibble, which was such a joy to bring to life with bold colours and whimsical scenes.
My background as a professional forester has shaped the way I see the world — I’m drawn to the rhythms, patterns, and small moments of beauty in nature. Living on Gabriola Island, I’m surrounded by endless inspiration, from the shifting shadows in the forest to the luminous pop of colour along the shoreline. Whether I’m painting in a more traditional style or layering in hidden, glowing details, my goal is the same: to spark curiosity and invite you to see the world in a new light.
